Willkommen to Berlin

Made it from Krakow to Munich to Berlin without a hitch despite Lufthansa canceling over 200 flights today to get over their recently settled labour dispute. We were flying economy on this leg have to say that Lufthansa has a very good economy service, you still get a meal or snack and they have just reintroduced wines (red, white and sparkling) and beer for their economy passengers...what North American airline does that these days?? Apparently Lufthansa is one of the worlds few airlines that actually turns a profit. Having said that the business class service is far superior on Air Canada compared to Lufthansa.

The weather in Berlin is a comfortable 20C which is so nice. After the last three cities having 30+C temps this feels lovely.

We checked into the Ritz Carlton Berlin and have been very impressed. The room is gorgeous and we got an upgrade to a room overlooking Potsdammer Platz. I am currently trying to talk Jess into going for a walk but he is refusing to get out of the bed with its 10 pillows (no exaggeration) ...he would prefer that I call room service for ice cream sundaes to eat in bed instead.

Tomorrow we have a bike tour of Berlin booked to get an overview of the city. We were here a couple of years ago with my mom and sister as an excursion from our Baltic Cruise but that was just a quick 6 hour tour.He won't move!!!

Just hit the button for lights, do not disturb, maid...all in the bedside table...cool!!
Bulgari Toiletries...yum
The Sony Centre across the street

Once again, the first comment, little obsessed with the blog, you think?

Oh, go ahead & order that sundae, that sounds like a holiday to me, and oh my, that bed really does look too comfy to get out of, you go Jess. Speaking of Jess, you are too funny, love the beer mug!

Nice to see that Ryan is writing so much more this trip, and he is funny also, what a couple. How lucky a mom am I?

It looks so nice there, I am a wee bit envious. Now go & visit those high end stores. Enjoy, as it is soon over, darn. XO
