Lunch in Monte Carlo

Today we enjoyed what has become our Nice schedule: breakfast (McDonalds today, need to throw in a cheap meal every once in awhile to keep the trip on budget) and then a nice walk along the Promenade before it gets too hot outside. We had brought our paparazzi zoom lens camera to get some pics of the eccentric people here but our battery had died. We will have to do it tomorrow. We did manage to get a couple good pictures with the pocket camera and I get the feeling that the post will be right up Melissavina and Dalyn's alley.
We made our way to the flower market which is supposed to be an early day attraction here. Apparently the hot climate is perfect for growing flowers. I could care less about flowers but Jess likes all kinds of plant stuff so off we went. Either the flower market sucks or we arrived too early. Most impressive things to look at were the vegetables, huge vegetables, tomatoes the size of large grapefruits and massive bundles of garlic. We picked up a few bundles of garlic to bring back in our carry on to give as gifts when we get home.
Mid morning, we hopped in the car and headed to Eze and then on to Monaco. The drive is crazy, roads that serpentine along the edge of cliffs... it gave me a funny feeling in my unmentionables. Thank god Jess was driving and my job was to navigate between French radio stations looking for one of the three english songs they play here... no exaggeration, there are only three english songs.

Eze was beautiful, perched atop a cliff looking back at Nice. I really felt like we were back in Italy on the Amalfi coast , the heat, the drive, and the views. Apparently there was a cruise ship in town and we were trying to outrun the busloads of tour groups behind us and made our way onto Monaco after a short visit and photo op.
Monaco was exactly as you would expect it to be. Huge yachts docked side by side with Bentley cars parked at their stern. We wouldn't have been suprised if P-Diddy, Diddy, Puffy or Puff Daddy came strolling off with his personal umbrella holder. We wandered around, took some photos, had lunch and made our way home to escape the heat and humidity. I'm sure there are some special things to do here but it is very similar to Nice and there were even more tourists swarming around so we thought it would be better to have the option of heading back to a hotel room if we got overheated.
Tonight we plan to head out on the town for dinner with the masses and see if we can get any good footage of Jess doing his signature dance routine in inappropriate places... stay tuned.

Oh those tomatoes! Wow, I'd like to toss a caprese with those puppies.

Aaaand, I've just decided to take the yacht to Monaco. I think I'd fit in nicely there. Do they have Bud Light?
