How We Spent Our Last Night In Paris

Ryan had the camera last night and took a few pictures of our last night in Paris. We couldn't help but go for a picnic again. We love doing it as much or more as going out for dinner and it's a hell of a lot cheaper. Usually it takes me a week to unwind on a holiday. I think it's safe to say I got there in much less time.

All of that Zen went out the window this morning. We slept in again until 11:00 a.m., which was lovely. What wasn't lovely was our sudden realization that we were supposed to pick up the car at 9:00 a.m. and check out at the same time we were hauling ass into the shower. Add to that, driving in a crowded city in a foreign country, in a foreign car, as the nagivation gives you directions like "Take the second exit in the roundabout, merge left and take a sharp right after merging on the second right" as an old man drags his walker across your path and three taxis are honking at you from behind.

Having said all of that, the drive was spectacular and it was amazing to be driving though the countryside once we made it out of the city. We had a few wrongs turns but it was actually a blessing in disguise -- we saw many awesome things we wouldn't have otherwise.

We're just settling into our new hotel in the Loire Valley, in a little town called Onzain. We're going for a walk to take some pictures of the property that we'll post tomorrow.

I was lying on the thick green grass tonight outside of Starbucks....isn't there just something about lying in grass that is relaxing and easy going? That is what I thought when I came back home tonight and saw your lying around photo.

Can't wait to see where you are now!
