Spaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!! Can I do anything else for you? Yes, touch me like that again, please.

I guess it's my turn to write a blog posting. Hello People!! Today is our last day at Jimbaran Bay before we transfer to Ubud which is located in the centre of the island and is the cultural heart of Bali. I have to say this Resort has totally blown us away, our villa is gorgeous, the grounds are like you are living in a botanical garden (80 gardeners are employed to maintain them!), the staff is amazing (they remember your name even if they have seen you once, how??), and the food is delicious. The photos do not do this place justice. This definitely the nicest place we have ever stayed!! I did tonnes of research before booking the Bali leg of our trip. Bali is loaded with very high end resorts at great prices so the decision was difficult. Of the three places we will be staying this one was supposed to be the worst. Either I got things wrong or we are in for something amazing to come?
Today we had booked a couples spa treatment. We were a little reluctant to do the spa thing as our experience has always been that they are totally not worth the money but we had a $100 credit to use so we went for it. For me a massage is a little like being trapped in hell for an hour, having a stranger dig their knuckles into my back causing the muscle to enter spasm is just not fun. I selected the "Ocean Opulence Experience," and with a name like that it had to be good plus the description has lots of soaking, scrubbing and rehydrating in it, no mention of massage, yeah! Last night a spa reminder card for Mr. and Mrs. Magee arrived (Magee???!!!!).

This morning we had our breakfast at the restaurant overlooking the Indian Ocean while Balinese men serenaded us. We then headed back to our villa for a quick plunge in our pool before heading off to the spa. The service at the spa from the moment we entered was sublime. Cold mint scented clothes, watermelon and juice as we filled out our forms, lovely.
We were then escorted to the change room and handed various pieces of fabric to slip into, paper panties, a sarong, robe and slippers, we rocked it!!I assumed the next step would be slipping through the door labeled "spa pavilion" to our waiting treatment room.....nope! We were escorted to the front reception area to wait for our buggy to take us to the beach. Are you kidding me, we're going to the beach!!?? We are not going through an "exposed body in public" phase right now! Anyhow, off we went in our "outfits" being whisked to the beach for all the other resort guest to see, they all smiled politely as we passed. The "beach" ended up being a gorgeous grassy escarpment on a cliff with the waves crashing below, it was absolutely stunning and in a part of the property we didn't even know existed. We later walked by to see the area set up for a wedding, I guest we could have killed two birds with one stone had we known. The treatment was absolute perfection and worth every cent and more. Foot soak in sea water while having our heads massaged with oil, foot salt scrub, Balinese massage with coconut oil and heated smooth sea shells (1.5 hours), full body salt scrub, couples shower on the beach, full body coconut lotion application and then fresh coconut drinks. We both sat drinking our drinks after the treatment in shock of how amazing the experience had been. Jess informed me (after the treatment) that he actually didn't want to do this today because of our less than stellar experiences in the past but was so glad we did. I am already looking at the spa menu at our next resort and fantasizing.

After lunch and a plunge in our villa pool we headed out to Coconut Grove a quiet little enclave on the beach that is part of the resort. We relaxed, read our books (I read 3 pages), drank some beer (I had 2! with lime to disguise its disgusting taste) and listened to music while people passed by. It was actually quite lovely, I had forgetten that chilling can be fun, too!!!When we checked into our villa on the first day the card from the manage said "Welcome to paradise!", we couldn't agree more!!
No matter how much fun we are having we have to say our little angel Walter is not far from our minds. My mom, "Walter's Gram" is doing a great job of caring for him and that makes us feel good. We think our little nugget may not want to leave his country life with Gram and her many treats to come home to Vancouver. (No gram doesn't keep him in a cage, he is on the patio) How cute is he???

Just amazing, what else is there to say!
What kind of melon are you drinking from, watermelon?
Had to laugh at the name change..is that a first? Think I like the sound of that, Mr & Mrs. Magee.
Now that underwear, bet that was scratchy, & I love that you guys look like twins in your matching spa outfits.
Well, if that place wasn't ranked as high as the next 2, I can only imagine,( no I can't,) what lies ahead. Can't wait to see all the pics & read about it.
Hope security is as tight at the next one..XO Mom

I second Dalyn's "amazeballs" (partly because I agree and partly because I want to use that word in a sentence).

If I went there I would NEVER, NEVER leave.

Why would you need paper aka tear away underwear for a massage?????

too bad they didn't let you change at the massage spot, rather than hanging out at the lobby.

Ah, how I love this vicarious vacation of mine.....
